WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Playing for the second time in three days, the Boilermakers showed no signs of fatigue as they ran away from the Salukis with a 75-36 victory. Purdue was able to establish its lead with a 28-4 run in the first half.

Purdue quickly fell behind 8-3. However, the deficit did not last long. The Boilermakers used the next 10:07 to pull ahead 31-12. The Boilermakers' strong first half surge was aided by freshman guard Courtney Moses who was 4-of-5 from the field and tallied 11 points before the break. Moses would finish with 18 points and a career-high six assists. Junior forward Alex Guyton pulled down a career-high 13 rebounds to go along with seven points and a game-high five steals.

The Boilermakers showed no signs of slowing down in the second half as they held the Salukis to six field goals and just 21.4 percent from the field. Purdue closed the game on a 22-5 run over the last 7:29 of play.

Not only did Purdue suffocate Southern Illinois with tough defense, holding the Salukis to 27.5 percent from the field for the game, but the Boilermakers also continued to display their offensive firepower. Purdue's 75 points improve the Boilermakers to 5-0 when scoring 70 or more points.

Southern Illinois was led by Charnise Mitchell's 12 points and 13 rebounds, while CiCi Shannon contributed 10 points and eight boards.

Continuing to her comeback from bacterial meningitis, junior forward Drey Mingo saw some significant playing time. The Atlanta native finished with two points, one rebound and one assist in 10 minutes of action. Mingo returned to the floor for the first time since November 21, on Saturday vs. Auburn but only saw two minutes of playing time late in the second half. Tonight, she was inserted during the first half and played an important role in Purdue's victory.

The last time Purdue and Southern Illinois met was on this date 21 years ago. The Boilermakers have now won the last four meetings and lead the all-time series 5-4.

Purdue will play one more time before taking a brief holiday break. The Boilermakers will travel to Gardner-Webb to face the Bulldogs on Dec. 22 and the game will be broadcast via a live web stream on bigsouthnettwork.com. Purdue's next home game will be Dec. 28 against the Western Illinois Leathernecks at 7 p.m. ET in Mackey Arena.
