GLENVIEW, Ill. - The No. 23 Purdue men's golf team carded a two-round total of 590 (+22) on Sunday to finish the first day of the Windon Memorial Classic in a tie for seventh place.
The Boilermakers tallied a first-round score of 298 (+14) before rebounding to fire an eight-over 292 in the afternoon session. The Old Gold & Black finished the day tied with Big Ten foe Minnesota in seventh position on the leader board.
Freshman Adam Schenk led Purdue with a three-over 145 on Sunday, good for a share of 18th place after 36 holes of play. The Vincennes, Ind., native posted a five-over 76 in the first round, but came back in the afternoon with a season-best 69 (-2) to tie for the third-best individual round of the day.
Senior Erich Johnston rode a first-round 72 (+1) to a total of 148 (+6) and a share of 33rd place, while classmate Nakarintra Ratanakul finished the day in a tie for 39th with a 36-hole score of 149 (+7). Junior Tyler Duncan shot 152 (+10) on Sunday to finish the day in a 55th-place tie, and sophomore Henry Plager signed his card with a total of 158 (+16) and a share of 81st place.
Competing as an individual, freshman Edward Peters posted a 157 (+15) on Sunday to wrap up the day in a tie for 77th place.
