Men's Golf Takes Third At Crooked Stick Invitational

CARMEL, Ind. - Junior Nakarintra Ratanakul moved seven spots up the leader board on Tuesday to pace the Purdue men's gold team to a second-straight round of 292 (+8) and a third-place finish at the Crooked Stick Invitational.

The Boilermakers finished the two day event with a total of 884 (+32) to finish one stroke ahead of host and fourth-place finisher Indiana.

Ratanakul fired an even-par 71 on Tuesday, his best effort of the tournament, to finish in a tie for ninth place after wrapping up play on Monday with a share of 16th. Ratanakul concluded the event with a six-over total of 219.

For the second day in a row, junior Erich Johnston and sophomore Tyler Duncan produced identical scores, carding a pair of 75s (+4) on Tuesday to finish with a total of 221 (+8) that was good for a share of 14th place. Sophomore William Sjaichudin also posted his best round of the tournament on Tuesday, a final-round 72 (+1), to finish in a tie for 20th with a score of 224 (+11), while junior Maximo Kopp carded a third-round 74 (+3) to notch a total of 232 (+19) and a tie for 37th place.

Purdue will have a final tune up for the Big Ten Championships this weekend when it plays host to the Boilermaker Invitational at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex. The 54-hole event will be contested on the Kampen Course, with action beginning at 8:30 a.m. ET on Saturday and thirty minutes earlier on Sunday.
