Men's Golf Finishes 10th At Bridgestone Collegiate

FOREST OAKS, N.C. - Behind a top-15 finish from junior Erich Johnston, the Purdue men's golf team wrapped up its fall season on Sunday with a 10th-place showing at the UNCG Bridgestone Collegiate.

The Boilermakers carded a team total of 300 (+12) in the final round to secure a top-10 finish with a final total of 876 (+12).

Johnston fired a final-round 74 (+2) on Sunday to finish the tournament in a tie for 15th place with a total of 214 (-2). The performance marked the second time in five fall tournaments that the Fort Wayne, Ind., product posted a red number, as well as his third-consecutive top-15 effort to conclude the fall.

Junior Nakarintra Ratanakul shot 76 (+4) on Sunday to finish in a tie for 30th with a score of 218 (+2), while sophomore William Sjaichudin earned a share of 35th place with a total of 220 (+4) after firing a 75 (+3) in the final round. Sophomore Tyler Duncan also carded a final-round 75 on Sunday to finish in a tie for 64th with a total of 227 (+11), and classmate Scott Busch rounded out the Boilermakers' lineup in a tie for 81st with a total of 234 (+18).

With its fall schedule complete, Purdue will be idle until Feb. 12, 2010, when it heads to the Sunshine State for the first day of the Big Ten Match Play Championship.
