OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. - The Purdue men's golf team shot 309 (+29) on Sunday to conclude the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational presented by Cleveland Golf/Srixon in 15th place with a total of 922 (+82).
Junior Erich Johnston fired a final-round 75 (+5) on Sunday to finish the tournament with a total of 222 (+12), good for a share of 28th place. Classmate Nakarintra Ratanakul also shot 75 on the final day of play at Olympia Fields, turning in a weekend total of 229 (+19) to tie for 52nd place.
Junior David Gersztein tallied a nine-over 79 on Sunday to finish in a tie for 63rd with a total of 235 (+25), while sophomore Tyler Duncan took a share of 69th with a total 238 (+28) and freshman Henry Plager wrapped up his collegiate debut in 74th with a score of 245 (+35).
Purdue will return to action on Friday when it tees off in the first round of the University of Michigan-hosted Wolverine at Radrick Farms in Ann Arbor, Mich.
