Men's Golf In 15th Place At Olympia Fields

OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. - The Purdue men's golf team carded a total of 311 (+31) on Saturday in the second round of the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational presented by Cleveland Golf/Srixon to head into Sunday's final round in 15th place with a score of 613 (+53).

Junior Erich Johnston finished the day in a team-best tie for 23rd after a second-round 78 (+8) to move his total to 147 (+7) for the weekend, while classmate Nakarintra Ratanakul shot 79 (+9) on Sunday to head into the clubhouse tied for 55th (154, +14).

Junior David Gersztein tallied a 77 (+7) on Sunday to move into a share of 62nd place with a total of 156 (+16), and sophomore Tyler Duncan wrapped up the day in a 68th-place tie after shooting 79 (+9) to increase his total score to 158 (+18). Freshman Henry Plager matched Gersztein for the Boilermakers' best round of the day, shooting 77 to move into a tie for 71st place with a score of 161 (+21).

Purdue will conclude play at the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational presented by Cleveland Golf/Srixon with 18 holes of play on Sunday. Live scoring will be available at golfstat.com.
