Boilers Tied For 13th After 36 Holes At Wolf Run

ZIONSVILLE, Ind. - The Purdue men's golf team wrapped up the opening day of the Wolf Run Intercollegiate in a tie for 13th place, posting a team total of 598 (+30) in the first two rounds at Wolf Run Golf Club.

The Boilermakers began the day with a first-round 305 (+21) at the par-71 facility before rebounding with a nine-over 293 in the afternoon session. Purdue shares 13th place with Louisville, as both schools are just five shots away from a spot in the tournament's top-10.

Junior Erich Johnston led the Boilers with a five-over 147 on Saturday, earning a share of 23rd place after the first 36 holes of play. The Fort Wayne, Ind., product opened the day with a 75 (+4) in the first round and came back with a one-over 72 in the second.

Sophomore Tyler Duncan rode an opening-round 73 (+2) to a seven-over 149 and a tie for 34th place after the first day of competition, while junior Nakarintra Ratanakul posted the Boilers' lone red number of the day - a one-under 70 - in the second round to move into a tie for 54th (152, +10) following play on Saturday. Junior Maximo Kopp carded a total of 155 (+13) to finish the day with a share of 69th place, and freshman Arthur Kim entered the clubhouse with in a 74th-place tie after shooting 157 (+15) on the opening day of his collegiate career.

The Wolf Run Intercollegiate will come to a close on Sunday, with the final 18 holes scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m. ET. Live scoring is not available for the event, but a recap and results will be posted at purduesports.com at the conclusion of the day.
