WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The women's basketball team remained one game out of first place in the Big Ten with a 68-50 win over Illinois on Sunday. Lindsay Wisdom-Hylton led all scorers with 18 points.

After taking an 11-point advantage into the locker room at halftime, Purdue saw its lead dwindle to as little as eight when Illinois made a push to start the second half. The Boilermakers responded with a 16-4 run of its own to extend the lead to 20, its second largest lead of the night.

Purdue's run can be attributed partially to the play of Wisdom-Hylton, who recorded her ninth double-double of the season and 21st of her career, scoring 18 points, pulling down 10 rebounds and picking up three steals. Wisdom-Hylton's 10 rebounds leaves her just nine boards shy of setting the Purdue record for career rebounds.

Danielle Campbell also reached double-digits in scoring, contributing 11 points on 4 of 7 shooting, to go with three rebounds and one block.

As a team, Purdue played tough defense, forcing 18 turnovers, coming up with 10 steals and four blocked shots. Two of those steals came from FahKara Malone, who also added seven points and five assists in 25 minutes. Malone sat much of the second half after picking up her fourth foul with 17:15 in the game.

Freshman Brittany Rayburn finished with nine points and two assists in 17 minutes of work.

Jodi Howell turned in her 19th game of the season with at least one three pointer, shooting 1 of 1 from beyond the arc. She finished with five points, three assists and one steal.

For Illinois (8-18, 4-11), Lacey Simpson scored 16 points and Jenna Smith recorded a double-double with a 14 points and a game-high 13 rebounds.

Sunday's game marked the Pink Zone Challenge for breast cancer awareness. As part of the Pink Zone, both Purdue and Illinois wore pink shoes. The Boilermakers had white uniforms with pink trim and the Illini sported pink uniforms. The Purdue jerseys were part of a silent auction that generated over $4,000 for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Indianapolis chapter. Last season, the Boilermakers raised $8,490 for Think Pink, which has been renamed the Pink Zone. Purdue should exceed that total once all the donations are totaled.

Purdue will be back in action Feb. 19 when they travel to State College, Pa., to take on the Lady Lions of Penn State. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
