WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Lindsay Wisdom-Hylton recorded her fifth double-double of the season to lead the Purdue women's basketball team to a 60-49 win over Iowa on Thursday night at Mackey Arena.
Wisdom-Hylton scored 14 points and 10 pulled down 10 rebounds for the Boilermakers, who won their second straight game and improved to 10-5 (3-1 Big Ten).
Iowa fell to 8-7 (1-3 Big Ten).
Leading 30-26 at halftime, Purdue opened the second half on a 12-3 run that handed the Boilermakers a 42-29 advantage. After Iowa cut Purdue's lead to nine at 42-33 at the 10:18 mark on back-to-back field goals, Purdue went on an 11-3 run to take its biggest lead of the night of 17 points at 53-36. The Boilermakers' lead never dipped below 11 points over the final 9:17 of the second half.
"Some teams have been able to pull a win out from us," Wisdom-Hylton said. "I think we've learned from those past games."
There were eight lead changes and three ties in the first half.
Natasha Bogdanova, Jodi Howell and Brittany Rayburn each scored nine points for the Boilermakers.
For the second game since replacing the injured FahKara Malone in the starting lineup, Lauren Mioton handed out a career-high six assists with only two turnovers in 35 minutes. She contributed six points on a pair of three-pointers.
Overall, the Boilermakers had 20 assists on 23 made field goals.
Purdue has won nine of the last 11 meetings against Iowa and 16 of the last 21. The Boilermakers swept the 2008-09 season series after winning 69-60 in Iowa City just 11 days ago.
