WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The No. 16 Purdue men's swimming team notched their first conference win of the season on Friday night, defeating Northwestern 176-122.
Tim Watts, Aaron Koger, Kyle House and Andrew Langenfeld kicked things off with a win in the 200 medley relay. The team posted a 1:31.56 to take the event.
Koger also won the 100 and 200 breast with times of 55.78 and 2:02.43, respectively. Watts went on to win the 100 back in 51.02, defeating teammate Chris Pfaff by 0.01. Langenfeld later took home the 100 fly in 48.98.
The Boilermakers also did well in the freestyle events, with Langenfeld swimming to victory in the 50 free in 20.54, John Schmitt taking the 100 free in 45.51 and Matt Stewart winning the 1000 free in a time of 9:21.75.
David Colturi and David Boudia finished 1-2 in 3-meter diving. Colturi notched a 380.10, while Boudia posted a 375.38. In 1-meter Colturi finished second at 323.25 and Danny Cox was third at 292.35.
Purdue (2-0) hits the pool again tomorrow, this time at Notre Dame. The meet is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. ET.
