COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The No. 15 Purdue men's swimming and diving team capped off a solid weekend with a third place showing at the Art Adamson Invitational on Sunday. The Boilermakers finished with 583 points, while No. 2 Stanford was first with 1,565 points and No. 16 LSU was second at 756.5.

Drew Wolfred and Matt Stewart led things off with a 10th and 11th place finish, respectively, in the 1650 free. Wolfred clocked in at 15:40.58, while Stewart was right behind him at 15:42.40.

Chris Pfaff and Andre Koop pulled the trick again in the very next event, holding down the 10th and 11th spots, respectively, in the 200 back. Pfaff touched the wall in 1:50.87, with Koop coming in at 1:51.44.

John Schmitt took it up another notch, however, going 44.44 in the 100 free for a sixth place finish. He was the only non-Stanford swimmer in the eight-man `A' final. Andrew Langenfeld picked up 17th in the event, clocking in at 45.12.

Aaron Koger kept up the pace in the 200 breast. He finished eighth in 2:00.74, while Albert Miller and Bill Arzner also had solid showings. Miller finished 14th in 2:06.24, with Arzner coming in at 2:09.08 for 16th.

Sam Wilcher pulled off the swim of the night, however, posting a fourth place finish in the 200 fly. His time of 1:47.67 was only .04 behind third place. Andrew Langenfeld (1:49.50) and Luke Zehrung (1:51.75) finished ninth and 14th, respectively, in the event.

The 400 free relay team of Schmitt, Langenfeld, Ben Wachtel and Gage Barry finished things off with a fourth place showing, posting a time of 3:00.98.

The male divers competed on the platform for the first time this year, as well. David Boudia took the title with a score of 419.60, while David Colturi finished second at 371.00 and Danny Cox was third at 350.80.

The No. 15 Boilermakers next compete at the Ohio State Diving Invitational from Dec. 5-7. The swimmers hit the water once again on Jan. 10 at Florida Atlantic. Check purduesports.com for more updates.
