Purdue jumped into action in the second round, winning eight of 10 bouts en route to a 32-6 win over Eastern Michigan. The Old Gold and Black picked up bonus points in five straight matches from 149 to 184 pounds as No. 11 Jake Patacsil, No. 8 Luke Manuel and Nick Corpe all earned major decisions, while Colton Salazar and No. 11 A.J. Kissel both posted falls. Chattanooga and Kent State also picked up wins in the second round as the Mocs topped Northern Illinois, 28-12, and the Golden Flashes defeated Campbellsville, 30-12.

The third round of duals saw Purdue pick up its first shut-out win under second-year head coach Scott Hinkel and their biggest win since 2003, as the Boilermakers beat Campbellsville, 44-0. Northwestern was victorious in Saturday's only matchup between ranked opponents as the Wildcats topped Kent State, 21-8. The bout featured a pair of matchups between ranked grapplers as fourth-ranked Brandon Precin of Northwestern blanked Bedelyon, 5-0, while the Wildcats' No. 2 184-pounder Jake Herbert tripped up Kilgore by decision, 6-3. The final match of the third round saw Eastern Michigan take a 25-16 win from Chattanooga.

Purdue closed out the day with a 32-9 win over Northern Illinois, finishing the day 3-0, and matching Northwestern with the top performances of the event as the Wildcats wrapped up their trip with a 30-12 victory over Chattanooga.
