Ball State Invite: Day One Results

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Purdue men's tennis team picked up a slew of victories to start their fall season. Two players chalked up two victories on the day, while a handful of others also took home wins.
Junior Paul Foley and sophomore Matt Manasse each won two matches Friday. Foley defeated Francisco Siguad (IPFW) 6-2, 6-2 and Mike Dieciuc (Xavier) 6-3, 6-4. Manasse edged out Michael Hobson (Illinois State) 7-5, 7-5 and got the win over Bryce Warnock (Dayton) 6-2, 6-1.
Other winners were sophomore Eric Ramos, senior Griff Nienberg, junior Slavko Bijelica and senior Patrick Rose. In the A Flight competition, Ramos beat Mark Rutherford (Marquette) 6-2, 6-4 and Nienberg defeated Alex Lau (Valparaiso) 6-3, 6-4. In the B Flight, Bijelica shut down Herman Kuschke (IPFW) 6-0, 6-0 and Rose beat Matt Sherman (Dayton) 6-2, 6-1.
