ITA Regionals: Doubles Results (10/18)

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Through the opening rounds of competition at the ITA Regionals, Purdue junior Slavko Bijelica has earned two hard fought victories. The two wins put him into the Round of 16 starting tomorrow.
Bijelica defeated Julian Dehn (Minnesota), 6-2, 6-4, in the first round. In the second, he took out Andrew Mazlin (Michigan), 7-6 (2), 6-4.
"These are good wins for Slavko. He had some great moments of high-level tennis today," head coach Tim Madden said. "I'm most happy about the fact that he's consistently in the moment. He's feeling pretty good about his level of focus right now."
In doubles action, Bijelica and sophomore Eric Ramos lost their opening round doubles match, 9-7, to Peter Marrack and Michael Dierberger (Ohio State). Ramos also fell in singles competition to Matt Allare (Ohio State), 3-6, 1-6.
