WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue (4-12, 2-4 Big Ten) settled for a second-straight weekend split of conference opponents after falling 7-0 to No. 22 Michigan (12-4, 5-1 Big Ten) Sunday at the Wolverine's Varsity Tennis Center.
The Boilermakers, who defeated Penn State Saturday 4-3, were defeated at each of the nine positions though doubles and singles.
Senior Brooke Beier was the most competitive on her team, falling 8-5 with Stephanie Wooten at No. 1 doubles to the No. 56 tandem of Tania Mahtani and Chisako Sugiyama.
Beier later fell in singles to Sugiyama, ranked 46th in the country, 6-2, 7-5.
All six singles contests were completed in straight sets.
Purdue continues its four-match conference road trip next Saturday and Sunday with trips to Ohio State and Indiana.
