IOWA CITY, Iowa - Purdue used late offense and a dominating bullpen to claim the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against Iowa after falling short in an earlier come-from-behind bid as the teams split one-run games at Duane Banks Field.

The Boilermakers scored the tying run in the sixth inning and the winning run in the seventh as Purdue claimed the nightcap of Saturday's twinbill with Iowa 4-3. The Boilermakers' comeback bid in the day's first game came one-run short as the Hawkeyes claimed the 7-6 win.

Purdue fell behind 7-2 in the opener before charging back with four runs in the sixth to pull to within one run. However, the Boilermakers could not break through in the seventh inning and fell by one for the sixth time this season.

The seventh inning was golden for Purdue in the nightcap as Jordan Comadena lined a single into left to drive home the winning run in Purdue's final at-bat.

Andy Loomis and Josh Lindblom came out of the Boilermaker bullpen in Game Two to record the win and the save as Purdue's pen continued to dominate the Iowa bats. Loomis (2-0) got the win with two scoreless innings of relief, and Lindblom picked up his second save of the weekend was a 1-2-3 seventh inning. Lindblom, who now has five saves this season, has retired all 10 batters faced this weekend in two appearances - six by way of strikeout.
