CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - The Purdue baseball team was blanked twice on Sunday by the Ohio Bobcats in a pair of 3-0 contests at V.A. Memorial Stadium, dropping the Boilermakers' record on the season to 2-11.
The Boilermakers struggled all afternoon at the plate, collecting a combined 11 hits in two contests against the Bobcats.
The pair of 3-0 losses marks the first time the Purdue Nine was shut out in back-to-back games since falling 6-0 and 4-0 to Ohio State in a Big Ten doubleheader on April 26, 2003.
The Boilermakers open the home portion of the schedule on Saturday, March 22, at noon with a twinbill against the Western Illinois Leathernecks. Purdue defeated WIU twice in three games last season in Macomb, Ill.
