WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - No. 45 Purdue's conference season came to end Friday afternoon in Minneapolis after falling to Michigan 4-0 in the quarterfinals of the Big Ten Championship. The Boilermakers' dropped to 13-9, while the 26th-ranked Wolverines improved to 15-6.

Purdue will play the waiting game with regards to the NCAA Tournament selection show early next week. Head coach Mat Iandolo thought the Boilermakers stood a good chance of making it for a second-straight year based on national ranking and their first-round win (4-0) over Wisconsin Thursday.

Friday, however, was a different story for the Old Gold and Black as it lost to Michigan for a second time this year. Purdue was swept in doubles before losing in straight sets at No. 3, 4 and 6 singles.

Purdue's No. 1 and 2 players Mallory Voelker and Brooke Beier, along with Anna Dzeva at No. 5 all had matches in progress when the dual was clinched. Beier and Voelker won their first sets over nationally ranked Jenny Kuehn and Chisako Sugiyama, while Dzeva was in the midst of a first-set tiebreak with Elizabeth Exon.

Michigan's victory placed them in Saturday's second semifinal against the winner of No. 2 Indiana and No. 7 Minnesota. The first semifinal is between No. 1 Northwestern and No. 4 Iowa.
