Doubles Or Nothing

April 15, 2007

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Purdue's men's tennis team fell to No. 66 Indiana 6-1 outside at the IU Tennis Center Sunday afternoon. The Boilermakers won the doubles point but lost at all six singles positions.

Griff Nienberg and Paul Foley lost at No. 3 doubles to Arnaud Roussel and Peter Antons, but the No. 1 combo of Paul Rose and Branko Kuzmanovic and the No. 2 tandem of Jose Fuenmayor and Eric Hodgman both came through in a pair of exciting tiebreaks.

Rose and Kuzmanovic beat Thomas Richter and Dara McLoughlin 9-8 (5), while Fuenmayor and Hodgman edged David Bubenicek and Mak Kendall 9-8 (6).

Unfortunately, the momentum did not carry over into singles for the Boilermakers as they were all swept in straight sets.

Purdue closes out its regular season next weekend, playing host to Minnesota and Iowa at the Schwartz Tennis Center. Both duals will start at noon.
