No. 3 Ohio State Blanks Purdue

April 14, 2007

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The third-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes proved worthy of their national ranking after shutting down Purdue 7-0 Saturday afternoon at the Jesse Owens Tennis Center.

The Buckeyes, armed with four nationally ranked singles players and two top-of-the-line doubles combos, won all nine matches as they continue their march towards conference and national titles.

Purdue concludes its four-match road swing Sunday with a noon match at arch-rival Indiana. The Boilermakers and head coach Tim Madden are looking forward to putting the OSU match behind them and going after the Hoosiers.

"Tomorrow we're on a mission to put all the pieces together," said Madden. "We experienced some success in singles early in the semester, and have had good doubles play as of late, but tomorrow is the day we get everything going at once. We're going to give IU all we got."
