WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue divers Zach Schultz and Danny Cox resembled seasoned pros during their debut trip to the NCAA Championships this week.

Schultz completed the weekend with a seventh-place finish off the platform with 347.50 points, while Cox earned honorable mention All-America status for a second-straight night with his 11th-place total of 368.15 points.

Schultz and Cox combined for all of Purdue's 33 points and earned a total of two All-America and three honorable mention All-America citations. They are the first Boilermaker divers in program history to score at the same national championship meet.

Best of all, both will return to the team next season as Schultz is just in his second full season and Cox is a rookie.

Junior Romain Maire also will be looking to build on this week's performances. Although the Frenchman failed to score, he did show marked improvement by placing among the top-30 in all three of his events: 200 and 400 individual medley and 200 backstroke.

Maire was 22nd in the 200 back Saturday with a time of 1:44.37. He was 28th in the 200 IM (1:47.54) and 21st in the 400 IM (3:50.45).

The Boilermakers finished the meet in 24th place, giving them their third-consecutive top-25 showing at nationals.
