WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - No. 37 Purdue (8-2, 1-0 Big Ten) extended its season-opening road-winning streak to a fifth game with a 7-0 win over Hawai'i. The Boilermakers' shutout was its fifth of the season and second vs. a West Coast opponent (Washington).

Nationally ranked singles and doubles competitor Mallory Voelker won at both No. 1 positions. First, she and Brooke Beier rolled through Kana Aikawa and Sophie Kobuch, 8-2, then she defeated Kobuch again in straight sets 6-4, 6-2. Voelker has won her last four decisions at No. 1 singles to improve to 9-4 this spring and 7-3 at No. 1.

This may have been Purdue's easiest dual of the season with all six Boilermaker singles players winning in straight sets. Kobuch was the lone oppoenent to reach the four-point mark in her losing effort.

Beier held Aikawa to two points in each of their sets at No. 2, while Randi Schuler, Neela Vaez and Cigdem Duru all won at least one 6-0 set.

Schuler and Anna Dzeva won the toughest point of the night with an 8-7 (7) tiebreak win over Samanta Cappella and Julia Sandborn at No. 3 doubles.

The Boilermakers' clean sweep (win at every position) was its fourth of the season. In its 7-0 win at No. 71 Western Michigan, Purdue won the doubles point but dropped the match at No. 3 doubles.

Purdue has Tuesday and Wednesday off to prepare for No. 10 North Carolina, who it meets Thursday at 3 p.m. EST. The Boilermakers are 3-2 against nationally ranked opponents this season.
