EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Paul Davis scored 16 of his 22 points in the second half to help No. 12 Michigan State pull away from Purdue 77-52 on Wednesday night.
Maurice Ager had 16 points, Shannon Brown added 14 and Drew Neitzel 11 for the Spartans (18-5, 6-3 Big Ten), who outrebounded the Boilermakers 38-18 and shot 61 percent from the field in the second half.
Marcus White led Purdue (8-14, 2-9) with 14 points, while Gary Ware added 11.
Matt Kiefer, the Boilermakers' top scorer in conference play, was held to six points by Michigan State's Matt Trannon.
The Spartans won for the sixth time in seven games and moved into a second-place tie in the league. They beat Purdue for the seventh straight time at home.
The Boilermakers rallied from a 27-17 deficit late in the first half to tie it at 32. But Ager's drive gave Michigan State a 34-32 edge at the break, thanks largely to a 22-8 rebound advantage.
