Five For Finals

ATHENS, Ga. - Five Purdue divers qualified for finals during the first day of competition at the Georgia Invitational.

Competing against the likes of the host Bulldogs, Auburn and Houston, three male Boilermakers and two female finished among the top 10 on each side.

In the men's 3-meter competition, Steve LoBue finished third with 335.70 points, while seniors Josh Karshen (281.45) and J.R. Hillis (261.20) placed eighth and tenth.

Georgia's Chris Colwill won the 3-meter title with 417.45 points and Auburn's Steven Segerlin was the runner-up with 357.75 points.

Off the women's 1-meter board, Carrie McCambridge placed sixth with 26.50 points and junior teammate Amanda Miller was ninth with 250.40 points.

Anastasia Pozdniakova of the Houston Cougars won the 1-meter crown with 281.65 points.

Day two will feature the the second day of springboard competition with the men competing off the 1-meter and the women jumping off the 3-meter. Men and women compete off the platform tower Sunday.
