Pruemer forced the Wolverines to strand nine runners on base, including five in scoring position. Pruemer has pitched four complete games in five starts in Big Ten play.

Tyler Heck's single in the second inning drove home Spencer Ingaldson, and Eric Osborn scored on the play when the Michigan right fielder mishandled the ball. Ingaldson and Osborn each singled to reach base before Heck's two-out base hit.

Michigan scored a single run in the home half of the second, but could not manage to push another runner across the plate against Pruemer.
