No. 14 Purdue Defeats UC Santa Barbara In Overtime, 66-65

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (AP) - Erin Lawless scored off a rebound with four seconds to play in overtime, giving No. 14 Purdue a 66-65 victory Friday night over UC Santa Barbara.

Lawless scored 20 points for the Boilermakers, who overcame a 10-point deficit in the final eight minutes of regulation.

Purdue (4-1) has not lost a non-conference regular-season road game since an 83-82 overtime defeat to Santa Barbara on Dec. 17, 2002.

Kristen Mann had 20 points for the UCSB (1-2), including a putback that gave the Gauchos a 65-64 lead with a minute to play in overtime.

After trailing 50-40, Purdue outscored UCSB 18-3 to take a 58-53 lead with two minutes to play.

UCSB scored the last five points of regulation, sending the game into overtime when Brandy Richardson banked in a one-handed rebound with two seconds remaining.

Aya Traore scored 13 for Purdue, and Tye Jackson 12. Mia Fisher added 13 points for UCSB.
