CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (AP) - Katie Gearlds had 13 points, including the go-ahead 3-pointer in the final minute, and No. 15 Purdue held Arkansas without a field goal for the last eight minutes in a 55-51 victory on Thursday in the opening round of the Flint Hills Resources Islander Classic.

Two free throws by Kristin Peoples gave Arkansas a 51-49 lead with two minutes left. After the Razorbacks failed to score off three Purdue turnovers, Gearlds hit her 3-pointer with 37 seconds left to give the Boilermakers a 52-51 lead.

Erin Lawless added 11 for Purdue (2-0).

Peoples had a game-high 14 points for Arkansas (2-1), and Sheree Thompson added 10.

Purdue outrebounded Arkansas 49-31 in a game that featured six ties and seven lead changes.

Purdue will face the winner of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi-Idaho State in the championship game on Friday.
