WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) - Kyle Orton threw for 522 yards and six touchdowns, setting a school record with 530 total yards, to lead Purdue to a 63-24 victory over Indiana on Saturday.

Taylor Stubblefield also had a record-setting day. He past the NCAA's receiving mark by catching 14 passes for 138 yards and three TDs, giving him 309 career receptions. Louisville's Arnold Jackson caught 300 passes from 1997-00.

Orton, considered a top Heisman Trophy candidate before an injury and a four-game losing streak knocked him out of the race, needed just one half to throw for 401 yards and five TDs.

The Boilermakers (7-4, 4-4) finished with a Big Ten record 763 yards in total offense and scored 60 points for the first time since 1913.

Purdue has won seven of the last eight games in the Old Oaken Bucket series, and they scored 60 points for the first time since 1913. Indiana (3-8, 1-7) ended its season with three straight losses.

Orton completed 23 of 39 passes and three receivers - Kyle Ingraham, Stubblefield and Dorien Bryant - all topped the 100 yards. And that was just in the first half when the Boilermakers produced 512 yards in total offense.

Orton finished 33 of 54 and topped Drew Brees' record for total offense of 524, which came against Minnesota on Oct. 3, 1998. Orton also tied Brees' school marks for most passing yards, set in that Minnesota game, and touchdown passes, which Brees did twice.

Stubblefield must wait to see if he holds onto the mark. Marshall's Josh Davis entered Saturday night's game against Western Michigan tied with Stubblefield at 295 receptions.

Stubblefield also broke the school record of 13 TD receptions in a season. He has 15.

Orton's numbers could have been even more impressive if not for a couple drops, but the rare mistakes didn't matter.

Purdue started fast and never slowed down.

Orton led the Boilermakers to touchdowns on their first three possessions, including a 52-yard TD pass to Ingraham when Indiana's Herana-Daze Jones slipped and a 23-yarder to Stubblefield. Brandon Jones added a 4-yard TD run.

Indiana closed to 21-10 when Victor Adeyanju sacked Orton, forcing a fumble, and Will Lumpkin picked it up and raced 74 yards for a TD early in the second quarter. It was Lumpkin's second TD of the season and extended the Hoosiers school record to five defensive touchdowns in a season.

For Purdue, it was merely a speed bump.

Orton threw three more touchdowns in the first half - a 21-yarder to Bryant, a 17-yarder to Stubblefield and a 26-yarder to Ingraham to make it 42-10 at halftime.

Orton then connected with Stubblefield on a 12-yard TD early in the third quarter.

After Purdue pulled Orton early in the fourth quarter, Bryant scored on a 62-yard run and backup quarterback Brandon Kirsch a 61-yard TD to Charles Davis.

Ingraham finished with 11 catches for 209 yards and Bryant had five receptions for 131 yards.

BenJarvus Green-Ellis led Indiana with 15 carries for 94 yards. Matt LoVecchio was 21 of 34 for 239 yards with one touchdown in his final college game.
