The Purdue women's tennis team won its third straight match with a 4-3 victory at No. 65 UC Irvine at Anteater Tennis Stadium. The Boilermakers are now 6-6 (1-0 Big Ten)and currently ranked at No. 53.
The Boilermakers won two of the three doubles matches to earn the doubles point. No. 2 freshman Hala Sufi and junior Shawna Zuccarini defeated Bentzer and Posner 8-3. Junior Lara Burgarello and freshman Alyssa Rodriguez topped Fermin and Hu 8-3 in No. 3 doubles.
In singles play, Purdue out did UC Irvine in three matches. No. 3 Sufi, No. 5 Zuccarini, and No. 6 Woods were victorious.
Purdue will return home to continue the Big Ten season against Minnesota on Saturday, March 27 at 1 p.m. ET.
