Men's Tennis Drops Third Straight

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue men's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision at Middle Tennessee State on Sunday. The 55th-ranked Boilermakers have lost three in a row, and now own a 3-3 record. The 63rd-ranked Blue Raiders are 4-4.

Middle Tennessee took the doubles point by winning two of three pairs matches. Junior David Robinson and Paul Rose teamed for the Boilermakers' lone doubles win, an 8-5 upset of 30th-ranked Trevor Short and Kirk Jackson.

In singles, Rose battled back from a set down to defeat Short 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2, while freshman Eric Hodgman pulled out a 7-5, 6-3 win against Aidan Fitzgerald at No. 6. The Blue Raiders won the four remaining matches.

Purdue will look to get back on the winning track next weekend, when it plays host to Indiana State and N.C. State on Feb. 28 and 29.
