Sufi Wins On Last Day At Kentucky Fall Classic

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue women's tennis team concluded play at the Kentucky Fall Classic in Lexington, on Sunday.

Freshman Hala Sufi was the lone Boilermaker winner on the day, with a 6-1, 6-3 victory over the Wildcats' Danielle Petrisko in the Blue flight.

Also in the Blue flight, junior Shawna Zuccarini dropped a 7-5, 6-0 decision to Ohio State's Lindsay Williams. Sophomore Paula Schmidt lost 6-1, 6-3 to Abilene Christian's Lauren Yarbrough in the Red flight, while freshman Emily Bomersback lost 6-1, 3-6, 6-0 to Marshall's Meghan Skalsky in the Green flight. Freshman Alyssa Rodriguez fell 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 to Notre Dame's Christian Thompson in the White flight.

The Boilermakers will return to action Oct. 23, when the ITA Regional Championships begin in Kalamazoo, Mich.
