Final Stats

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue women's tennis fell to No. 25 Kentucky in Lexington, today.

Purdue head coach Mat Iandolo thinks that the team learned a lot today.

"We had some close matches," Iandolo said. "Kentucky was very aggressive and we fell short.

Hopefully we'll have good practices this week as we travel to meet Duke on Sunday."

The Boilermakers headed into singles with the Wildcats leading 1-0 after winning at all three doubles spots.

In singles, Purdue struggled as junior Gretchen Haynor lost to 37th-ranked Sarah Witten at the No. 1 spot. Sophomore Shawna Zuccarini fell to 48th-ranked Nathalie Roels in second position and junior Missy Wright lost a heartbreaker to 89th-ranked Amy Trefethen at No. 5, clinching the match for Kentucky.

On Sunday, March 2, the Boilermakers will take on No. 1 Duke in Durham, NC at noon.
