WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue shut down Coastal Carolina 4-0, taking the final game of the series and conclude its ten-day, eight-game spring break trip on Sunday afternoon in Conway, S.C. The victory ended an 11-game skid.

Sophomore Mitch Pruemer was masterful with a complete game shutout of the Chanticleers to earn his second win of the season. The right-hander limited Coastal to just four baserunners, including two hits, while striking out five on a tidy 78 pitches.

The Boilermakers opened the scoring in the top of the first when Daniel Underwood singled, stole second, advanced to third on a throwing error and eventually came around to score on David Harrell's RBI groundout. They extended the lead to 2-0 in the third when Underwood tripled down the right field line to score Mitch Koester.

Purdue extended its advantage to 4-0 with a pair of runs in the seventh. Andy Rempel tripled to drive home his first run as a Boilermaker, scoring Wilson James who pinch-ran for Simon Klink after a single earlier in the frame. Rempel crossed the plate scored on Koester's ground out for the four-run lead.
