WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - No. 4 South Carolina defeated Purdue 15-2 at Sarge Frye Field in Columbia.

Left fielder Garris Gonce hit a pair of two-run home runs and knocked in five runs while Gamecock starter Steven Bondurant limited the Boilermakers to one hit in six innings to notch the win, improving South Carolina's record to 15-2.

The homestanding Gamecocks scored one run in each of the first two innings and scored four runs in the third. Gonce and Trey Dyson homered in consecutive at-bats to give South Carolina a 6-0 lead after three. USC added seven runs in the sixth inning.

Purdue scored both its runs in the eighth inning. Simon Klink singled home Kris Luce and Wilson James scored John Gusich on a RBI ground-out.

The Boilermakers, 2-10, resume play on Friday afternoon with a 3 p.m., contest at Coastal Carolina.
