WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Wofford edged Purdue 6-5, on Monday night at Duncan Park in Spartanburg, S.C.

Purdue added two runs to take a 3-0 lead in the fifth when John Manuel doubled home Mitch Koester and Daniel Underwood, who posted consecutive singles.

Wofford cut the lead to 3-1 in the bottom of the sixth when Scott Holloway singled home Kyle Raulinaitis.

Purdue extended its lead back to three when Daniel Underwood tripled, scoring Koester, who doubled in the previous at-bat.

In his first start of the season, Sean O'Neil shutout the Terriers for the first five innings and yielded just one run on five hits while striking out five in his six-inning outing.

After Wofford trimmed the lead to 4-2 on a bases loaded walk, pinch-hitter D.J. Rhodes hit a grand slam off Heath Uppencamp to give the Terriers a 6-4 advantage, their first lead of the game.

Purdue cut the home team's lead to 6-5 in the eighth on Adam Fazio's RBI groundout which scored McIntyre.

Andy Rempel delivered a pinch-hit to open the top of the ninth and advanced to second on Koester's groundout before Wofford closer George Lehr struck out Underwood and Manuel to thwart the Purdue threat.
