BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana's Levron Williams ran for 94 yards and a touchdown and Jeremi Johnson added a touchdown to lead the Hoosiers past Purdue 13-7 on a rain-drenched field Saturday.

The victory gave Indiana (4-6, 4-4 Big Ten) possession of the Old Oaken Bucket for the first time since 1996, and it was the first time Indiana won the trophy at its home stadium since 1993.

Indiana students celebrated by pouring onto the field and bringing down one of the goal posts. They marched with it across the field toward the Hoosiers locker room before setting it down on the field.

The Hoosiers took a 7-0 lead by moving 79 yards on its opening possession, the score coming on a 52-yard run from Williams, who dragged a defender the final 3 yards. Williams carried 21 times in the game and cracked the 3,000-yard career rushing mark.

Two possessions later, Indiana took over at the Purdue 34 after Herana-Daze Jones recovered a fumble by Purdue quarterback Kyle Orton. Eight plays after that, Antwaan Randle El raced in from 10 yards out to give the Hoosiers a 13-0 lead. The extra point was wide right.

Purdue (6-4, 4-4) scored on the opening possession of the second half when Orton threw 14 yards to John Standeford.

Orton, who threw on 43 of the Boilermakers' final 45 plays, got the Boilermakers inside the Indiana 20 twice in the fourth quarter. But Purdue turned the ball over on downs both times, once at the Indiana 1.

Orton, who made his first college start, completed 31 of 62 passes for 263 yards and one touchdown, while the Boilermakers were limited to minus-8 yards rushing.

It is the first time the Hoosiers have finished with a .500 conference record since 1994.
