WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue men's tennis team knocked off Hawaii on Thursday 7-0. With the win the Boilermakers improved to 8-4 on the season.
Scott Mayer picked up his ninth consecutive win when he defeated Reginaldo Moralejo 6-2, 6-3 at the No. 2 singles position. Mayer paired with Derek Miller at the No. 3 doubles position to pick up their ninth consecutive win. The duo defeated Jorge Gonzalez and Evan Spiegel 8-1.
"Scott is a great leader for us," head coach Tim Madden said. "He is not only a consistent performer, but has a consistent practice routine off the court. His decisive singles and doubles wins helped us a lot today."
The Boilermakers will face Nebraska on Friday.
