BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Purdue baseball team's three-game winning streak came to an end with a 4-1 loss to Wright State on Saturday in Boca Raton, Fla.
With the game tied at 1-1, Wright State scored two runs in the eighth inning and one in the ninth to put the Boilers away.
Sophomore left-hander David Gassner (2-1) picked up his first loss of the season despite striking out a career-high 13 batters. Gassner went the distance, allowing nine hits while walking only one.
Purdue finished with seven hits in the game. Sophomore David Blomberg and junior Daryl Hallada had two hits apiece.
The Boilers (5-10) finished with a 4-5 record in Florida. They will take on St. Joseph's at 3 p.m. on Tuesday in Rensselaer, Ind.
