Big Ten Announces Fall Academic All-Conference Teams Purdue tallies fifth-most student-athletes in conference with 45 honorees

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Big Ten Conference announced the 2001 fall academic all-conference teams today. A total of 510 student-athletes were recognized for their work in the classroom, including 45 from Purdue's volleyball, soccer, football and men's and women's cross country teams. The women's soccer team led the way for the Boilermakers with 16 nominees.

To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, a student-athlete must be a letterwinner in at least their second academic year at the institution and carry a career GPA of 3.0 or better.
