Athletic Training Staff Changes Announced Five newcomers added to department.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue's athletic department has announced several changes in the athletic training staff, headed by Denny Miller. A total of three newcomers, including Jennifer Allen, Danielle Leightey and Kristy Walker, will be full members of the staff, while newcomers Bill Dent and Terry DeZeeuw will serve as a volunteer and an intern, respectively. All five are licensed athletic trainers.

Allen received her bachelor's degree from Arizona, master's from Virginia and a master's of physical therapy from Shenandoah. She will be working primarily with men's and women's track.

Walker, who earned a bachelor's degree from UC-Irvine and a master's degree from Oregon, will work primarily with volleyball and softball.

Danielle Leightey, a graduate student who received her undergraduate degree from Ohio State, will work with the women's soccer team.

Dent, who earned bachelor's and master's degrees from Loma Linda College, will serve as avolunteer assistant trainer while working full-time as a physical therapist at the Student Health Center.

DeZeeuw, no stranger to the Big Ten, received his bachelor's degree from Iowa and master's from Ohio State. He will work primarily with the wrestling team.

Three former athletic training staff members have moved on in their respective careers. Tom Pahnke received his master's degree from Purdue and has taken a position at a sports clinic in Milwaukee. Stephanie Stout is focusing on her new role as a full-time mom after giving birth to a baby boy last winter. Alice Wilcoxson is pursuing a doctoral degree in education at Purdue and will serve as a graduate assistant in the recreational sports department.
