Ian MacDougall
Ian MacDougall joined the strategic communications staff in August of 2019. He manages the social media, media relations and day-to-day promotional efforts for women's basketball  and serves as a secondary contact for the football program. He also oversees the student internship program.  MacDougall returned to Purdue following two action-packed years at UCF. He served as assistant director for communications from 2017-19, handling duties for baseball, volleyball, football and men's and women's tennis. MacDougall's work with the Knights included promoting three AAC titles (2 - football, 1 - volleyball), two New Year's Six Bowls and the grand opening of the renovated John Euliano Park for baseball.  Previously, MacDougall spent two years at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, where he covered a litany of sports, including women's basketball, soccer and softball, and assisted with men's basketball and volleyball. Advancing from communications intern to assistant to assistant director, he was responsible for graphic design, video production, written content and media relations. MacDougall earned a bachelor's degree in history, with a minor in French, from Wabash College, where he was a kicker for the Little Giants football team and an assistant in the sports information department. He then walked on and played football for Purdue during the 2014 season while working on his postgraduate degree.  The Westfield, Indiana, native is married to his high school sweetheart, Rachel, who played basketball at Western Illinois. They welcomed their daughter Adaline into the world in February 2022.
