Dean Eikenberg joined Purdue Athletics in October of 2024 as the assistant director of strength and conditioning, specializing in golf performance. Certified by the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) for golf-specific fitness training, Eikenberg arrived in West Lafayette after spending two years at SMU.   During 2023-24 season at SMU, Eikenberg oversaw the strength and conditioning needs for the women’s golf and women’s cross country, as well as assisting with men’s and women’s swimming and diving, men’s and women’s Soccer, women’s track & Field, and women’s Rowing.   Prior to SMU, Eikenberg was a personal trainer at the Alpha Project Gym, working with youth athletes and general population adults. Starting in June of 2021, he coached at Jesuit Dallas High School as an assistant athletics performance coach, working primarily with the football team, as well as the lacrosse, crew, powerlifting, and water polo teams.    Eikenberg graduated from Baylor in 2021 with a degree in Sociology and Business Administration before earning a master’s degree in Applied Physiology & Kinesiology at Florida. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA, a USAW Level 1 Performance Coach, a NASM CES, as well as CPR/AED/First Aid certified.    Eikenberg lives with his wife, Bailey, and their dog Ollie.
