• Went 3-2 to place seventh at Big Tens ... Lyon went about his methodical way, taking Wisconsin’s sixth-seeded Mason Reinhardt down once in each of the three periods for an 8-1 decision in the seventh-place match to become the first Purdue 184-pounder to place at the Big Ten Championships since Braden Atwood placed seventh as a redshirt freshman in 2012.
• Opened the tournament by avenging a 3-2 loss to Rutgers’ Nick Gravina by dealing the ninth-seeded Scarlet Knight a 3-1 setback ... the eight-seeded Boilermakers’ second period takedown held for the win.

• Clinched Purdue’s ninth straight win over Indiana with a 3-2 decision over Norman Conley.
• A strong first period and 1:22 of riding time proved to be the difference in Lyon’s 7-6 upset of No. 15 Cameron Caffey of Michigan State ... Lyon registered a pair of first period takedowns, but Caffey worked his way back into the match with a reversal at the end of the first and a takedown in the third ... Caffey stands as the highest ranked opponent Lyon has knocked off in his career.
