Purdue Football on Radio
The Boilermaker Sports Network, managed by Learfield IMG College and Purdue Sports Properties, consists of 25 radio stations. WAZY (96.5 FM) in Lafayette is the flagship station. Games also can be heard on TuneIn.com, via the TuneIn mobile app and on Sirius XM Radio. For home games at Ross-Ade Stadium, the broadcast team calls the action from the John R. DeCamp Radio Booth, named after the longtime voice of the Boilermakers. The pregame show begins one hour prior to kickoff.

Tim Newton is in his 14th season as play-by-play announcer and also serves as host of the “Purdue Weekly Show.” Newton previously filled the role of pregame, halftime and postgame host, as well as producer, from 1995 to 2009. In addition to his football duties, Newton will embark on his 34th season as play-by-play voice of the Purdue women's basketball team with the 2019-20 campaign. A 1981 Purdue graduate, Newton is the director of external relations and communications for the Krannert School of Management. He previously worked for the Purdue News Service and the Purdue Alumni Association, where he was editor of the “Purdue Alumnus” from 1992 to 1999. He served as sports director at WASK radio in Lafayette from 1982 to 1986. Tim and his wife, Susan, have two children, Emily and Aaron.
Pete Quinn is in his 32nd season as analyst, which he announced will be his final one. He is a 1981 Purdue graduate, was selected to the Purdue All-Time Football Team in 1987 and was inducted into the Indiana Football Hall of Fame in 2016. Quinn started four years at center for the Boilermakers from 1977 to 1980 and was team captain his junior and senior seasons. Quinn is the national director of industrial services for Colliers International. He has worked with several charitable organizations and is a board member for St. Mary’s Child Center. Quinn has been actively involved in the Catholic Youth Organization of Indianapolis and served as athletics director for St. Simon School. He received the Monsignor Albert Busald Award from the CYO. Quinn is a member of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors and the Industrial Asset Management Council. He serves on several boards, including the International Warehouse Logistics Association, Indiana Sports Corp and Central Indiana Police Foundation. In 2013, Quinn co-founded the Boilermaker Business Exchange of Indianapolis and currently serves as the organization’s chairman. Pete and his wife, Susan, have three children: Peter, Kristen and Hannah, all Purdue graduates.
Rob Blackman is in his 14th season as pregame/halftime/postgame anchor as well as producer following three seasons as sideline reporter and three seasons as co-host of “Boilermaker Sports Wrap.” During the men’s basketball season, Blackman serves as the play-by-play voice of the Boilers. In the spring, he does radio play-by-play for Purdue baseball. In addition, Blackman can be seen on the Indiana High School Athletic Association television network covering the football, basketball, softball and baseball state finals and serves as a pit reporter for the IndyCar Radio Network. He is a 1993 graduate of the University of Evansville, where he earned his degree in telecommunications and was a four-year letterwinner as a wide receiver on the football team. Rob and his wife, Stephanie, have two children, Evan and Lily.
Kelly Kitchel is in his 14th season as sideline reporter. He was an offensive guard for Purdue from 1998 to 2002 and a member of five bowl teams: 1998 Alamo, 2000 Outback, 2001 Rose, 2001 Sun and 2002 Sun. Kitchel majored in organizational leadership and supervision. He works as a risk manager/commercial insurance agent for Henriott Group, primarily insuring public schools, contractors and farms. Kitchel has been a varsity assistant football coach at West Lafayette High School since 2012 after previous stints at Lafayette Jefferson High School (2003-05 and 2007-09) and Wabash College (2006). He also serves as president of the National Football Foundation Joe Tiller Chapter of Northwest Indiana. Kelly and his wife, Brooke, have four children: twins Cooper and Carson, Cade and Kerrigan.
