LEXINGTON, Ky. – Douglas Buckeridge (3000m steeplechase) and Antoine Spencer (200m) led the way for Purdue Outdoor Track & Field on Friday with victories in their respective events.  
 
Men's Notes
• Spencer turned in a personal best 20.41 into a -1.9 m/s headwind to earn his victory. The time moves him to No. 12 in the nation and No. 3 in the Big Ten. He improved his program ranking from a sixth-place time to third.
• Buckeridge ran 8:50.19 in the 3000m steeplechase to earn his victory and enter Purdue's top 10 list at No. 7. He now holds a top 10 spot in the 1500m, 5000m, 10,000m (school record) and 3000m steeplechase.
Cale Ayers threw a personal best 63.35m (207-10) in the hammer to finish third and enter the program's top 10 list at No. 9. Leo Maxwell finish fourth with a season best 63.01m (206-08).
Nolan Macklin had a personal best 20.77 in the same 200m heat as Spencer heading into a -1.9 m/s headwind.
Hugh Jacobsmeyer finished seventh in the 1500m (3:46.53) and entered the program rankings at No. 9. It's the third fastest 1500m time by a freshman Boilermaker in the last 15 seasons.
Andreas Hantson took second in the long jump and fell just short of a personal best (7.32m / 24-00.25).
 
Women's Notes
Payne Turney finished second in the 1500m (4:21.75) and Lauren Pegher followed in fourth (4:26.51). Pegher's time is the fastest by a Boilermaker freshman in at least the last 15 seasons.
Jalen Elrod enters Saturday third in the heptathlon with 3,302 points and Angeline Amefia is fifth with 3,191 points. Elrod has an event win in the shot put (12.68m / 41-07.25).
Emma Squires tied the highest finish by the women's team with her second-place finish in the 3000m steeplechase (10:33.98).
Britannia Johnson (54.52m / 178-10) and Britannie Johnson (53.37m / 175-01) came in fifth and sixth in the hammer throw.
Jila Vaden took fifth in the long jump (5.86m / 19-02.75). It is her fifth top five finish of the outdoor season.

The Boilermakers wrap up the regular season on Saturday before turning its attention to the postseason in a few weeks.
