HOW IT HAPPENED:
Indiana made quick moves to get a run on the board after a single and a double in the top half of the first. The Boilers went down in order at the bottom of the inning, but returned the favor to the Hoosiers in the second frame. Jordyn Ramos and Sage Scarmardo got on base with two walks, and Ramos stole third on a past ball, but Purdue ultimately went scoreless in the second inning.

The Hoosiers grew their lead in the third inning with a home run. Klochack took over the mound to end the inning. Purdue and Indiana each put a runner on base in the fourth inning, but went scoreless. The fifth inning saw one Boilermaker error, but the team quickly recovered with a strikeout from Klochack and a double play to follow it up, ending the frame.

Gossett sent a home run over the fence in the sixth inning to give Purdue a crooked number on the board. Maura Condon came in to pinch hit and added a second hit to the Boilers' stats. Ramos and Sage Scarmardo also got on base, but were left out in the field.

Purdue held Indiana in the seventh frame, then came out ready to make a comeback. Ashlynn Campbell and Khloe Banks got on base with a hit each, then Moriah Polar and Kyndall Bailey each had an RBI sac-fly to send them home and tie up the score, sending the game to the eighth inning.

Ramos had a clutch catch off the wall in the top of the eighth, and no Hoosiers made it on base. A Hoosier error put Ramos on base in the bottom of the inning before Campbell had a grounder up the middle. Banks then walked to load the bases, but a grounder to first ended the inning, still tied.

The Hoosiers came into the ninth inning with two hits, then a sac-fly to put them ahead. Another hit combined with a Boilermaker error sent another runner home, extending their lead by two. The Boilers were unable to catch up at the plate, ending the game 3-5.
