WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue Football started its final week of spring ball inside the Mollenkopf Athletic Center. Tuesday's practice was the first of three during the week before Saturday afternoon's Spring Showcase.
Purdue's defensive line coach Kelvin Green reunited with head coach Barry Odom after spending the past three seasons at Arkansas. Green worked under Odom in his first season as a Razorback in 2022.
As spring ball progresses, Green continues to challenge his group to perform better every practice and not be too content with good performances.
"It was good to see them attack the day," said Green about the scrimmage on April 5. "To me, when you have days like that, the true challenge is not that day, it's the next day. Are they going to pat themselves on the back or come back to work... They're accepting the challenge, and we've made strides. But we still have a little way to go."
Jamarrion Harkless has taken on a bigger role this spring after appearing in 10 games last season for the Boilermakers. As a rotational piece last season, Harkless took that experience to grow heading into 2025.
"I played against all the big schools, so I know how it feels to play in all of those big games," said Harkless. "You got the crowd going, and it's big and loud. But if you've already played in that before, you're now locked in and you know how it goes. It's good that I got some of that experience last year."
TJ Lindsey, a former four-star prospect, joined the Boilermakers this offseason after just one appearance his freshman season at Auburn. A native of Little Rock, Arkansas, Lindsey had familiarity with both Odom and Green throughout his recruiting process that made choosing Purdue a comfortable decision.
"Throughout my recruiting process I really liked Coach Odom and Coach Green," said Lindsey. "Throughout the process, it felt really authentic, and I felt like they were real. They told me everything I work for I can get, and I liked everything about it. We have a good chance to turn the program around."
Purdue returns to practice on Thursday morning for the first of three straight days on the field to conclude spring ball.
