GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Purdue Outdoor Track & Field had two top five finishes and two relays qualify for the finals in day one of the Pepsi Florida Relays.
 
Men's Notes
Antoine Spencer ran his first outdoor 200m as a Boilermaker and turned in a wind-legal 20.61 for a personal best. The time is tied for sixth in school history and the No. 10 wind-legal time in the NCAA.
• The 4x100m relay team of Jasiah Rogers, Nolan Macklin, Connor Czajkowski and Spencer qualified for the finals on Saturday with a 39.52 in the prelims. The time fell 0.02 seconds shy of entering Purdue's record book.
• Czajkowski finished 14th in the 200m in 20.81 to fall just 0.01 seconds behind his personal best he set at the 2023 NCAA East Preliminary Round.
Nickens Lemba, Jahn Riley, Zach Mylenek and Brett Otterbacher ran 3:08.27 in the first 4x400m relay of the outdoor season. The group finished 11th in a stacked field.
 
Women's Notes
Jila Vaden took third in the long jump collegiate (6.02m / 19-09.00). She has opened her outdoor collegiate career with back-to-back third place finishes at the Pepsi Florida Relays and USF Alumni Invitational.
• The 4x400m relay team of Alyssa Tate, Gia Clay, Mirai Bernard and Taiye Ayenuro qualified for Saturday's final after finishing ninth in the prelims (3:39.27).
Britannia Johnson (55.15m / 180-11) started the meet with a personal best in the hammer throw.
Zoe Sullivan, Nia Wilson, Jila Vaden and Blessing Ogundiran ran 45.48 in the 4x100m to fall slightly short of the 45.43 set in the opener in Tampa.
 
Next Up
Purdue finishes the Pepsi Florida Relays on Saturday. Both track and field events will start for the Boilermakers at noon.
