AZUSA, Calif. – Purdue Outdoor Track & Field's distance group had four athletes compete in the 5000m in its second of three days at the Bryan Clay Invitational.  
 
Men's Notes
Kiefer Bell ran the first 5000m of his collegiate career in14:15.76 to finish 17th in heat two of the Men's Open 5000m.
Caleb Williams ran 14:28.07 in his first 5000m since 2023. The race comes one day after he set a school record in the 3000m steeplechase (8:40.44).
 
Women's Notes
Lauren Pegher turned in a 16:58.91 in the first 5000m of her outdoor career.
Paige Hazelrigg performed in the first outdoor meet of her collegiate career and ran17:40.03 in the 5000m.

Purdue distance concludes the Bryan Clay Invitational on Friday while the rest of the team begins the Tom Jones Memorial in Gainesville.
