Hantson Claims Decathlon Victory at Bryan Clay Multis

AZUSA, Calif. – Andreas Hantson took home the decathlon 'Group B' victory to lead the Boilermakers at the Bryan Clay Multis. His 7,686 points led all 44 decathletes that placed at the meet. 
 
Men's Notes
• Hantson's point total is now No. 2 in Purdue history and fell just 22 shy of the school record. He entered the season No. 4 in Purdue history with 7,383 points at last season's Big Ten Outdoor Championships. 
• The victory was highlighted by a win in the high jump (2.12m / 6-11.50) on Thursday night. His Friday performance was led by a second-place finish in the 1500m (4:26.31).
• Hantson earned personal bests in the long jump (7.37m / 24-02.25), shot put (13.10m / 42-11.75), 110mH (15.21) and 1500m.
Logan Sandlin finished 10th in the heptathlon 'Group A' with 6,992 points. The total moved Sandlin to No. 5 in Purdue history. He earned a personal best in the 110mH (15.35) to highlight his performance.
 
Women's Notes
Jalen Elrod finished sixth in the heptathlon with 5,544 points and moved into the program rankings at No. 5. Her performance was highlighted by a victory in the 200m (24.04) and second place finishes in the long jump (6.12m / 20-01.00) and 800m (2:15.46).
Angeline Amefia took eighth in the heptathlon with 5,449 points. She earned personal bests in the 100mH (13.79), shot put (10.64m / 34-11.00), 200m (24.71), long jump (6.06m / 19-10.75) and 800m (2:16.86).
